| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Regina Kuehn, who passed away on May 21, |
| 4 | | 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn was born in Berlin, Germany; she was |
| 6 | | a 55-year resident of Oak Park; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn and her husband, Heinz, not only |
| 8 | | endured and survived the final days of the Nazi regime in |
| 9 | | Berlin and the chaotic aftermath, but managed to pull off their |
| 10 | | wedding; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn was an expert in Catholic liturgy and |
| 12 | | church architecture; she was also instrumental in the redesign |
| 13 | | of Ascension Church following the Second Vatican Council in the |
| 14 | | mid-1960s and served as a consultant for other area churches; |
| 15 | | and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn was preceded in death by her husband, |
| 17 | | Heinz Kuehn; a grandson, Marcel Fremont; a |
| 18 | | great-granddaughter, Ava Lindamood; her parents, Max and |
| 19 | | Elisabeth Nowak; and a brother, Wolfgang Nowak; and

| 20 | | WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn was the mother of Angelika, Birgitta |
