SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Clare Gabrielson of Woodstock, who passed 
4away on September 10, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Clare Gabrielson was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin 
6on December 7, 1928 to Christopher and Anna (nee Ahlers) Burg; 
7she married Tennes Gabrielson on July 10, 1948 in Woodstock; 
8and
  
 
  
9    WHEREAS, Clare Gabrielson spent her adult life raising her 
10children; she was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in 
11Woodstock and enjoyed camping, bowling, stitchery, and sharing 
12her home with several cats over the years; she was particularly 
13proud of her husband, Tennes, and the homes, commercial 
14buildings, and churches that he constructed in McHenry County; 
15after the passing of her first husband, she married Vernon 
16Hanson in 1986; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Clare Gabrielson was preceded in death by her 
18parents; her first husband, Tennes; her second husband, Vernon; 
19her infant daughter; her daughter, Kristin M. Gabrielson; and 4 
20brothers, William Burg, Al Burg, John Burg, and Ervin Burg; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, Clare Gabrielson is survived by her children,

1Carol (Al) Zarnstorff, Susan (AJ) Tyson, Laurel Gabrielson, 
2Lynne (Doug) Anthony, and Andy (Linda) Gabrielson; her 
3grandchildren, Joel (Krysten) Zarnstorff, Rob (Erica) 
4Zarnstorff, Abbie (Justin Massa) Torgeson, Lindsay Torgeson, 
5Ryan Torgeson, Caitlin (Josh) Wagner, Jake Anthony, Kat 
6Gabrielson, Christopher Gabrielson, and Anna Gabrielson; 
7great-grandchildren, Ben and Julia Zarnstorff, Maddy and Clara 
8Zarnstorff, and Marlowe Massa; her brother, Joe (Mary Ellen) 
9Burg; 2 sisters, Helen Kristensen and Dorothy Kohl; and 
10numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
13Clare Gabrielson, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
15further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to  the family of  Clare Gabrielson as an expression of 
18our deepest sympathy.
