| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of James P. "Ski" Glogovsky of Algonquin, |
| 4 | | who passed away on April 9, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Glogovsky was born in North Chicago on July |
| 6 | | 6, 1939 to Stephan and Pauline (nee Drinka) Glogovsky; he |
| 7 | | attended North Elementary School in North Chicago and graduated |
| 8 | | from North Chicago High School, where he was a member of the |
| 9 | | basketball and baseball teams; he later played |
| 10 | | semi-professional baseball; he married Mary Kay Gont in 1959 at |
| 11 | | Holy Family Church in North Chicago; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, James Glogovsky attended the Chicago Police |
| 13 | | Academy and began his law enforcement career in Waukegan as a |
| 14 | | detective; he and his family moved to Lake Zurich in 1971, |
| 15 | | where he became a patrolman, and later Chief, with the Lake |
| 16 | | Zurich Police Department; he was a member of the Lake County |
| 17 | | Chiefs Association, serving as President; he retired from the |
| 18 | | Lake Zurich Police Department in 1991; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, James Glogovsky enjoyed playing in the Lake Zurich |
| 20 | | Police Department's softball and golf leagues and spending time |
| 21 | | with his buddies at the bait shop; he was a member of St. |
| 22 | | Francis de Sales Catholic Church, serving in the parish's |
