SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Shirley A. Talkington of Gillespie, who 
4passed away on January 13, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Shirley Talkington was born on March 21, 1930 in 
6Gillespie to George A. and Mary (nee Herron) Talkington; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Shirley Talkington retired as a clerk from the 
8State of Illinois and was a former bookkeeper with Fassero 
9Pontiac in Gillespie; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Shirley Talkington was a member of Croatian Lodge 
11#217, the Macoupin County Democratic Women, and the United 
12Methodist Church of Gillespie and Women's Organization; she was 
13a volunteer at Gillespie Caring Center; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Shirley Talkington was preceded in death by her 
15parents; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Shirley Talkington is survived by her daughter, 
17Shawn (James) Gallo and by  her grandchildren, Heather (Dan) 
18Shafer and Jamie (Greg) Gardner; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Shirley A. Talkington, and extend our sincere condolences to 
3her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Shirley Talkington as an expression 
7of our deepest sympathy.
