SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Gene L. Nottolini, former Kane County 
4Circuit Judge, who passed away on September 5, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Gene Nottolini was born and raised in Elgin and 
6graduated from St. Edward Central Catholic High School; he 
7passed the bar exam in 1968 and joined an Elgin law firm where 
8he practiced family, criminal, and personal injury law; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Gene Nottolini was appointed as an associate judge 
10in December 1984, and was appointed as a full circuit court 
11judge in 1988; he was elected as a circuit judge in 1990 and  
12served 21 years, including 3 years as Chief Judge of the 16th 
13Circuit from April 1993 through 1996; in 1991, he became the  
14presiding judge of the Family Court Division, where he 
15implemented a child-custody mediation program and later helped 
16design and implement the Kids Education Program; he retired 
17from the bench in November of 2005; and
  
 

  
18    WHEREAS, Gene Nottolini is survived by his wife, Kay; his 
19sons, Gene, Jr. and Joseph Nottolini; and his 5 grandchildren; 
20therefore, be it
  
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Gene L. Nottolini, former Kane County Circuit Judge, and extend 
3our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who 
4knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Gene Nottolini as an expression of 
7our deepest sympathy.
