SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Clarence Todd Taylor of Champaign, who 
4passed away on October 30, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Todd Taylor was the accompanist for the Urbana 
6High School choir and was a well-known gospel musician in the 
7community; and
  
 
  
8    WHEREAS, Todd Taylor was a master of music, and could 
9listen to any song and play it back, whether it was classical, 
10jazz, or gospel; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Todd Taylor directed the choir that sang at the 
12local Martin Luther King Jr. celebration each year and played 
13for the Black Chorus at the University of Illinois; he also 
14served Salem Baptist Church and Church of the Living God, both 
15of Champaign; he also worked with several other churches and 
16church groups; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Todd Taylor was able to make any student feel 
18special, even those who may not have felt included in other 
19parts of high school, or who had special needs; therefore, be 
20it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Clarence Todd Taylor, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Todd Taylor as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
