SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of longtime WLS-Channel 7 political reporter 
4and editor Hugh Hill, who passed away on October 18, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Hugh Hill was born in Gillespie; he served his 
6country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II 
7and attended the University of Missouri, where he studied 
8journalism; he married Jacqualyne Williams; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Hugh Hill arrived in Chicago in 1953 and started 
10working in radio; after working for WBBM radio and WBBM-Channel 
112, he joined WLS-Channel 7 in 1963, retiring in 1996; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Hugh Hill was a fan of the Saint Louis Cardinals 
13and enjoyed playing golf; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, Hugh Hill is survived by his wife, Jacqualyne; his 
15brother, James; his sons, Caven, Michael, and Steve; his 
16daughters, Helen Wenzel and Jennifer Vitter; his 9 
17grandchildren; and his 5 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
20Hugh Hill, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,

1friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
3presented to the family of Hugh Hill as an expression of our 
4deepest sympathy.
