SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Babi Baha'U'Llah Floyd, who passed away on June 11, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Babi Floyd graduated from North Chicago Community High School in 1971; he subsequently graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1976; and

WHEREAS, After college, Babi Floyd relocated to the New York City area, where he embarked upon a successful, colorful, and varied professional music and entertainment career; during his career, he was sought out as a studio musician for background vocals and as voiceover artist for Saturday morning cartoon characters and international radio and TV commercials; and

WHEREAS, Babi Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Anne Floyd-Mehu and AJ Floyd; his brother, Frank D.H. Floyd; and his grandparents, Rev. Raleigh A. and Rosa Lee Davis and Allison E. and Mamie Floyd; and

WHEREAS, Babi Floyd is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his sons, Tommie La'Mont (Neary) Proctor-Floyd, Jermol De'Mar (Lou Ann) Proctor-Floyd, and Davison Jubilance Wheeler Floyd; his brother, Rev. Raleigh D. (Yvonne) Floyd; his sisters, Mateenah "Bette" Floyd-Okanlawon, Carole R. Floyd-Stewart, and Maere M. Floyd-Pitts; his grandchildren, Creea, Pharoah, De'Marr, Xavier, Tiya, and Abel; his sister-in-law, Roberta "Becky" Hrdy-Floyd; his mother-in-law, Charlotte Anderson; and his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Babi Baha'U'Llah Floyd; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Babi Floyd as an expression of our sympathy.
