SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Lawrence Samuel "Sam" Allen of Grafton, 
4who passed away on July 4, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Sam Allen was born on December 29, 1989, in 
6Jerseyville, to Lawrence and Penelope (Overcash) Allen; he 
7graduated from Jersey Community High School in 2008 and 
8attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape 
9Girardeau, Missouri, where he studied agriculture business and 
10was a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Sam Allen enjoyed working on the family farm and 
12hunting; and
  
 
  
13    WHEREAS, Sam Allen was preceded in death by his grandpa, 
14Warren Allen and his grandparents, Harry and Frances Overcash; 
15and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Sam Allen is survived by his parents; his 
17brothers, Seth (Stacy) Allen, Dustin (Amy) Elliott, and Josh 
18(Gretchen) Allen; his sisters, Hannah (RJ) Lancaster and 
19Frances Allen; his grandmother, Eileen Allen; his 10 nieces and 
20nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Lawrence Samuel Allen, and extend our sincere condolences to 
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Sam Allen as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
