SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Betty Kessinger of Carlinville, who 
4passed away on June 23, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Betty Kessinger was born on July 15, 1923, in 
6Carlinville to Herbert and Hulda (nee Young) Hammann; she 
7graduated from Carlinville High School and married Hayden B. 
8Kessinger on April 28, 1946, in Carlinville; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Betty Kessinger was a homemaker and a partner with 
10her husband in the family farming operation; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Betty Kessinger was active in various church 
12activities and a member of the Carlinville Area Hospital 
13Auxiliary and the Home Bureau; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Betty Kessinger was preceded in death by her 
15parents; her husband; her sister; and 3 brothers; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Betty Kessinger is survived by her daughters, 
17Carolyn (Jim) Pickett and Linda Kessinger; her grandsons, 
18Matthew (Cori) and Michael Pickett; and her great-grandsons, 
19Caleb and Connor Pickett; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Betty Kessinger, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Betty Kessinger as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
