SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Mary Ann "Shirley" McCarthy (nee Gersich) 
4of Gurnee, who passed away on May 19, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Ann McCarthy was born on March 6, 1924, in 
6Hurley, Wisconsin, to John and Helen (LaForge) Gersich; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Mary Ann McCarthy obtained her RN in Ashland, 
8Wisconsin; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Mary Ann McCarthy enjoyed spending time with her 
10family, friends, and dogs and liked to peruse the weekly sales 
11in the papers and submit Publisher Clearing House entries; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Mary Ann McCarthy was preceded in death by her 
13parents; her husband, Edward B. McCarthy; her sons, John P. 
14McCarthy and Edward A. McCarthy; her brother, John "Buddy" 
15Gersich; her son-in-law, David E. Stolarick; and her grandson, 
16Matthew D. Stolarick; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Mary Ann McCarthy is survived by her daughters, 
18Kathy Stolarick and Mary McCarthy; her sister, Suzie Johnson; 
19her brother, Edward Gersich; her sisters-in-law, Marylyn 
20Gersich and Anita McCarthy; her daughters-in-law, Brenda

1McCarthy and Rebecca McCarthy; her aunt, Evelyn Estrel; her 13 
2grandchildren; her 24, great-grandchildren; her many nieces 
3and nephews; and her special friend, Bessie Gordon; therefore,

5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Mary Ann McCarthy, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Mary Ann McCarthy as an expression 
12of our deepest sympathy.
