SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Candice Lynnell Johnson of Chicago, who 
4passed away on April 27, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Candice Johnson was born on July 23, 1990, to Clay 
6and Cynthia Johnson in Chicago; she graduated from Seton 
7Academy in 2008 and attended Purdue University Calumet, where 
8she was studying computer graphics; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Candice Johnson accepted Christ on March 31, 2013, 
10at Resurrection House Baptist Church; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Candice Johnson enjoyed dancing and was a member 
12of one of Chicago's top dance groups, "CYDC"; she was a great 
13artist, hair stylist, singer, and had many talents; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Candice Johnson was preceded in death by her 
15brother, Clay Jr.; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Candice Johnson is survived by her parents; her 
17siblings, Judice (Baten), Curtis (Amy), LaTosha (Detrick), 
18Shena (Joseph), Carlos (Nastasia), and Clay III (Mechelle); her 
19nieces and nephews, Stephen (Melissa), Jasmin, Kendall, C.J., 
20Corey, Evan, Ethan, LeVandis, Christyle, Aaliyah, Diamond,

1Alea, DaJha, Terry, Carlos Jr., and Carla; her great niece, 
2Maliyia; her God daughter, Cherish; her dogs, Sam and Moet; and 
3a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Candice Johnson, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Candice Johnson as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
