| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert W. "Bob" Schrimpf of Alton, who |
| 4 | | passed away on March 13, 2013; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Schrimpf was born on November 8, 1924, in |
| 6 | | Alton to Emil William and Elsie Marie (Scholz) Schrimpf; he |
| 7 | | served in Navy on the USS Major from 1943-1946; he married |
| 8 | | Bette A. Hanke on December 7, 1945, in Alton; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Bob Schrimpf was the owner and president of Piasa |
| 10 | | Motor Fuels from 1946 to 1988; he purchased a pipeline terminal |
| 11 | | in Hartford in 1976 and built his business into one of the top |
| 12 | | Conoco distributors in the country in the 1980s; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Bob Schrimpf was a long-time member of Cherry |
| 14 | | Street Baptist Church, charter member of Faith Fellowship, |
| 15 | | president of the Alton Chamber of Commerce, president of the |
| 16 | | Illinois Petroleum Marketers Association, regional |
| 17 | | vice-president of the National Oil Jobbers Association, member |
| 18 | | of the board of the Bi-State Development Corporation, president |
| 19 | | of the Lewis & Clark Community College Foundation, |
| 20 | | vice-president of the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce and |
| 21 | | chairman of the board of Millers Mutual Insurance Association; |
| 22 | | and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bob Schrimpf enjoyed taking boat trips with his |
| 2 | | family on the river; and |
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Bob Schrimpf was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 4 | | his sister, Betty Evans; and his brother, Edward; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Schrimpf is survived by his wife, Bette; his |
| 6 | | sons, Bill (Vicki) Schrimpf and Mark (Rita) Schrimpf; his |
| 7 | | daughter, Anne (Wiley) Davis; his brother, Donald (Char); his |
| 8 | | grandchildren, Susan (Bryan) Hatfield, Matt (Jenn) Schrimpf, |
| 9 | | John Schrimpf, Michelle (John) Hyndman, Katherine (Chris) |
| 10 | | Phillips, Andrew (Sara) Davis, and John Davis; his |
| 11 | | great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Brianna Hatfield, Alexis, |
| 12 | | Braden, and Victoria Schrimpf, Jake, Shane, and Victoria |
| 13 | | Hyndman, Bryce, Caleb, and Grant Phillips, and Abigail, Lucas, |
| 14 | | and Nicholas Davis; therefore, be it

| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
| 16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 17 | | Bob Schrimpf, and we extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 18 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
