SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Daniel Thomas Kenney of Godfrey, who 
4passed away on January 31, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Daniel Kenney was born in Alton on November 27, 
61942, to Thomas and Theresa (Maloney) Kenney; he married Beth 
7Pohlman on October 5, 1968, in Alton; he served in the U.S. 
8Army during the Vietnam War; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Daniel Kenney worked for the Illinois State 
10Employment Service as an employment representative for 35 
11years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Daniel Kenney was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic 
13Church in Godfrey, East End Improvement, and the Alton-Wood 
14River Sportsman's Club; he was an avid runner, sports fan, and 
15pro-life advocate; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Daniel Kenney was preceded in death by his 
17parents; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Daniel Kenney is survived by his wife, Beth; his 
19son, Nicholas (Kathleen) Kenney; his daughters, Angela (David) 
20Knickmeyer, Megan (Michael) Burke, Rebecca (William) Smythe,

1and Emily Kenney; his mother, Mary Marjorie Kenney; his sister, 
2Judith Pete; his brother, Michael (Barbara) Mossman; his 
3grandchildren, Donald and Daniel Knickmeyer, Allyson, Grace, 
4and Ryan Burke, Patrick and Thomas Smythe, and Jillian Kenney; 
5therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
8Daniel Kenney, and we extend our sincere condolences to his 
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Daniel Kenney as an expression of 
13our deepest sympathy.
