1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1693

2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1693 as follows:

3 on page 2, line 24, after the period, by inserting "For the

4 purposes of this subsection (a-10), "peace officer" means any

5 person who by virtue of his or her office or public employment

6 is vested by law with a duty to maintain public order or to

7 make arrests for a violation of any penal statute of this

8 State, whether that duty extends to all violations or is

9 limited to specific violations."; and

10 on page 8, line 22, after the period, by inserting "For the

11 purposes of this subsection (a), "peace officer" means any

12 person who by virtue of his or her office or public employment

13 is vested by law with a duty to maintain public order or to

14 make arrests for a violation of any penal statute of this

15 State, whether that duty extends to all violations or is

16 limited to specific violations."; and
