| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Court of Claims Act is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 1 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (705 ILCS 505/1) (from Ch. 37, par. 439.1)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 1. The Court of Claims, hereinafter called the court, |
| 8 | | is created. It
shall consist of 7 judges, who are attorneys |
| 9 | | licensed to practice law in
the
the State of Illinois, to be |
| 10 | | appointed by the Governor by and with the advice
and consent of |
| 11 | | the Senate, one of whom shall be appointed chief justice.
In |
| 12 | | case of vacancy in such office during the recess of the Senate, |
| 13 | | the Governor
shall make a temporary appointment until the next |
| 14 | | meeting of the Senate,
when he shall nominate some person to |
| 15 | | fill such office. If the Senate is
not in session at the time |
| 16 | | this Act takes effect, the Governor shall make
temporary |
| 17 | | appointments as in case of vacancy. |
