| 5 | | "Section 15. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by |
| 6 | | adding Section 8-1403 as follows:

| 8 | | Sec. 8-1403. Accommodation for jurors whose predominant |
| 9 | | language is not English. The court in all instances shall |
| 10 | | appoint a qualified interpreter to interpret or translate the |
| 11 | | proceedings for a juror whose predominant language is not |
| 12 | | English. The interpreter shall be available throughout the |
| 13 | | trial and may accompany and communicate with the juror |
| 14 | | throughout any period during which the jury is sequestered or |
| 15 | | engaged in its deliberations. The court shall determine and |
| 16 | | allow a reasonable fee for all services provided under this |
