| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas N. |
| 4 | | Little of West Frankfort, who passed away on December 8, 2013; |
| 5 | | and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Little was born on July 25, 1940 in West |
| 7 | | Frankfort to Horace and Thomasine (nee Elwood) Little; he |
| 8 | | graduated from Frankfort Community High School in 1958 and |
| 9 | | attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale; he joined |
| 10 | | the United States Army Reserve in 1962 and served for 6 years; |
| 11 | | and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Little joined the Illinois State Police in |
| 13 | | 1965 and served District 9, the Illinois State Police Academy, |
| 14 | | and District 13; he retired in 1993 as a vehicle investigation |
| 15 | | specialist; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Little enjoyed serving his community; he |
| 17 | | spent 22 years as a Paid On Call Firefighter for the West |
| 18 | | Frankfort Fire Department; he was the Franklin County Deputy |
| 19 | | Coroner for 20 years and a 20-year West Frankfort Lions Club |
| 20 | | member; he also was a 32nd degree Master Mason, and recently |
| 21 | | received his 50-year membership pin; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Little was a member of the Fraternal Order |
| 2 | | of Police since 1970 and a member of the First Christian |
| 3 | | Church; he served as the West Frankfort Codes Officer from 1996 |
| 4 | | to 1999 and was the Frankfort Community High School hall |
| 5 | | monitor from 1999 to 2002; he was a member of the 911 Board |
| 6 | | from 2002 to 2006 and on the Frankfort Township Board since |
| 7 | | 2009; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Little had a love for radios and technology |
| 9 | | and was known by friends in the amateur radio community as |
| 10 | | "WA9BOT"; he also enjoyed dogs, going to Busch Stadium to see |
| 11 | | the St. Louis Cardinals play, and visiting Gulf Shores, |
| 12 | | Alabama; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Little was preceded in death by his |
| 14 | | parents; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Little is survived by his wife, Judy |
| 16 | | DeLap-Little; his sons, Justin (Melissa) DeLap and Charley |
| 17 | | Little; his daughters, Jessica (Thomas) Rude and Shelly Dugan; |
| 18 | | his grandchildren, Michael Thomas DeLap, Joshua DeLap, Jade |
| 19 | | Dugan, Ethan Dugan, Evan Kirksey, Kiersten Little, and Hayden |
| 20 | | Little; his brother-in-law, Gene Forgatch; and his nieces and |
| 21 | | nephews, Steve Forgatch, Beth Conner, Todd Forgatch, Amy |
| 22 | | Forgatch-Siefert, and Jay Forgatch; therefore, be it

| 1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 2 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 3 | | we mourn the passing of Thomas N. Little, and extend our |
| 4 | | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew |
| 5 | | and loved him; and be it further
|
| 6 | | RESOLVED, That suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 7 | | presented to the family of Thomas Little as an expression of |
| 8 | | our deepest sympathy.
