| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Bobby Moews on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement as the Central Catholic High School | ||||||
| 5 | head football coach; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Bobby Moews's retirement becomes effective | ||||||
| 7 | September 17, 2013, following a successful and distinguished | ||||||
| 8 | career; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Coach Moews is a Central Catholic High School | ||||||
| 10 | graduate and former quarterback; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Coach Moews had been on Central Catholic High | ||||||
| 12 | School's football staff for 28 years, serving as head coach for | ||||||
| 13 | 22; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Central Catholic High School compiled a record of | ||||||
| 15 | 155 wins and 73 losses, with only 4 losing seasons during Coach | ||||||
| 16 | Moews's tenure, making him the winningest coach in the schools | ||||||
| 17 | storied history; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Coach Moews has led Central Catholic High School | ||||||
| 19 | to 17 playoff appearances, including 10 conference | ||||||
| 20 | championships, 3 State title games, and 2 State championships; | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, 34 of Coach Moews's former players went on to play | ||||||
| 3 | collegiate football and 2 competed in the National Football | ||||||
| 4 | League; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Due to the relationships that they had developed | ||||||
| 6 | with Coach Moews over the years, fellow colleagues and staff | ||||||
| 7 | reflected that his departure was as hard on them as it was on | ||||||
| 8 | the players; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Central Catholic High School Principal Joy Allen | ||||||
| 10 | thanked Coach Moews for his years of service and all he gave to | ||||||
| 11 | the school, reflecting that he will always be a valued member | ||||||
| 12 | of the Central Catholic community; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Coach Moews was succeeded by his brother Mike, who | ||||||
| 14 | is now head coach; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Coach Moews declared that Central Catholic High | ||||||
| 16 | School had a very talented group of players and dedicated | ||||||
| 17 | coaches heading forward and was certain that the team would | ||||||
| 18 | continue their tradition of success; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Coach Moews stated that he wished the team well in | ||||||
| 20 | its future contests and enjoyed every day of coaching Central | ||||||

| 1 | Catholic High School Football; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 2 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 3 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 4 | we honor Central Catholic High School Football Coach Bobby | ||||||
| 5 | Moews for being an exceptional coach and role model for | ||||||
| 6 | students, and we wish him continued success and happiness in | ||||||
| 7 | his retirement; and be it further
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 9 | presented to Coach Bobby Moews as an expression of our esteem | ||||||
| 10 | and respect.
