HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Maura 
4Beckman, who passed away on August 17, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Maura Beckman was born on January 19, 1948 in 
6Lilly, Pennsylvania; she married Bruce Beckman in Montgomery 
7County, Maryland; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Maura Beckman was a well-known storyteller and 
9friend to all; she was well-known as "Miss Mickie" in the 
10Junior Room of the Downers Grove Public Library and throughout 
11her community; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Maura Beckman was an avid gardener and cook; and

  
 
13    WHEREAS, Maura Beckman is survived by her husband, Bruce; 
14her daughter, Juliet; her son-in-law, Nathan; and her 
15grandsons, Jackson Patrick and Nicholas Edward; therefore, be 
16it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
18NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
19we designate the date of October 17, 2013 as "Mickie" Beckman 
20Day in the State of Illinois in honor of Maura Beckman and her

1accomplishments and, along with her family and friends, mourn 
2her passing; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the family of Maura Beckman as an expression of 
5our sympathy.
