| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Brigadier General Brian |
| 4 | | E. Alvin on the occasion of his promotion in the United States |
| 5 | | Army Reserve; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Brigadier General Brian Alvin earned his |
| 7 | | Bachelor's Degree in industrial technology; he is the first |
| 8 | | ROTC graduate from Northern Illinois University to attain the |
| 9 | | rank of brigadier general, a distinction achieved by less than |
| 10 | | 1% of all United States Army officers; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Brigadier General Brian Alvin was commissioned |
| 12 | | into the United States Army as a second lieutenant in the |
| 13 | | Chemical Corps; after his initial assignment with the 2nd |
| 14 | | Armored Division in Fort Hood, Texas, he served in a variety of |
| 15 | | command and staff positions in the United States Army Reserve, |
| 16 | | including commander of the Headquarters and Headquarters |
| 17 | | Company, 807th Medical Brigade, commander of the 413th Civil |
| 18 | | Affairs Battalion, and commander of the 645th Regional Support |
| 19 | | Group; he has served as the commander of the United States |
| 20 | | Forces Garrison on Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan; he also |
| 21 | | served 2 tours of duty in Baghdad, Iraq, and is currently |
| 22 | | assigned as the assistant chief of staff - J4 (Logistics) of |
| 23 | | United States Forces Korea; and
