| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Monsignor Doug |
| 4 | | Hennessy on his retirement from Holy Trinity Catholic Church in |
| 5 | | Bloomington; and

| 6 | | WHEREAS, Monsignor Hennessy has been the pastor of Holy |
| 7 | | Trinity Catholic Church since 2004; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Monsignor Hennessy was born in Bloomington on |
| 9 | | February 21, 1938; he was ordained on July 14, 1963; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Monsignor Hennessy began his career in 1964 as an |
| 11 | | assistant at St. Paul's in Macomb; he furthered his studies at |
| 12 | | Fordham University in 1967; in 1968, he worked as diocesan |
| 13 | | director, religious education, and diocesan director of |
| 14 | | vocations; he became part-time assistant at St. Patrick's in |
| 15 | | Peoria in 1970, he was in-residence at St. Martin's in Peoria |
| 16 | | in 1976, and co-pastor of St. Patrick's in Urbana in 1977; in |
| 17 | | 1986, he joined the staff of North American College in Rome, |
| 18 | | Italy; he returned to Illinois in 1991 and became pastor of St. |
| 19 | | Paul's in Danville; in 2003, he became chaplain to His |
| 20 | | Holiness; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, A celebration of Monsignor Hennessy's retirement |
