HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Reverend Kenneth 
4J. York on the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the 
5priesthood; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Rev. York was ordained on June 4, 1988, at the 
7Cathedral of St. Peter in Belleville by the Most Reverend James 
8P. Keleher; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Rev. York has served at numerous parishes in 
10Illinois during his time in the ministry including Our Lady of 
11Mount Carmel in Herrin, Holy Spirit in Carterville, Cathedral 
12of St. Peter in Belleville, Blessed Sacrament in Belleville, 
13St. Teresa in Belleville, St. John the Baptist in Smithton, St. 
14Pancratius in Fayette, Immaculate Conception in East St. Louis, 
15St. Barbara in Okawville, and St. Henry in Belleville; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Rev. York has accepted appointments as the 
17chancellor for the Diocese of Belleville from June 1995 to the 
18present, as chaplain of the Catholic War Vets, Butz/JOBZ 370 
19from September 2003 to the present, to the Presbyteral Council 
20from February 2006 to the present, and as Defender of Appeals 
21and Defender of the Bond-Tribunal from December 1998 to 2009; 
22he has been past director of The Diocesan Catholic Relief

1Programs, Daily Home Missions, Missionary Co-Op, and the 
2Propagation of the Faith; he currently serves on the Priest 
3Personnel Board and the Clergyman's Aid Board; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Rev. York has a Juris Canonici Licentia Degree 
5(J.C.L.) and a masters in divinity; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Rev. York was born on July 31; his parents were 
7the late Charles and Cecilia (Wuller) York; he has attended 
8Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, Kenrick Seminary in 
9Saint Louis, Missouri, and Catholic University of America in 
10Washington, D.C.; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we congratulate Reverend Kenneth J. York on the 25th 
14anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood; and be it 
15further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Rev. York as an expression of our esteem and 
18respect.
