HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Olaf Gjovik on 45 
4years of service to the southwest Chicagoland area with Gjovik 
5Auto; and
  
 
  
6    WHEREAS, Olaf Gjovik has been in the auto business since 
7leaving the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II; he began his 
8career in automobile service and in 1968 moved into auto sales; 
9and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Olaf Gjovik always felt that the best move he ever 
11made was locating his dealership in Sandwich; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Olaf Gjovik has cultivated a family atmosphere 
13with his employees at Gjovik Auto; the sales, service, and 
14administrative staffs of the GM dealership are truly his 
15family, with several having been in their positions for 15 
16years or more; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Olaf Gjovik is known for his community 
18contributions; he has donated to over 100 organizations 
19including churches and a wide range of charities such as the 
20Open Door Fox Valley service; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate Olaf Gjovik on his 45 years of service to the 
4people of southwest Chicagoland with Gjovik Auto, and wish him 
5many more successful years; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Olaf Gjovik as an expression of our esteem and 
8respect.
