HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Kevin Schnable, Dean of 
4Students and head basketball coach at Oswego High School on his 
5accomplishments; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Kevin Schnable was named the Illinois Basketball 
7Coaches Association District 9 Coach of the Year for 2009, 
82010, and 2013; he has an overall record of 240 wins and 175 
9losses, the most wins in school history, and has installed 
10tradition and pride in a basketball program at a school known 
11as a "football school"; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Kevin Schnable's 2012-2013 season saw a record of 
1328 total wins and a record winning streak of 18; his team 
14placed 3rd at the Oswego/Naperville North Hoops for Healing 
15Thanksgiving Tournament with a 3-1 record, 3rd place at the 
16Proviso West Holiday Tournament (4-1 record), and 1st place at 
17the Wheaton South Martin Luther King Classic (3-0 record); and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, The Oswego men's basketball team was the 2013 
19Southwest Prairie Conference Champions with a 14-0 record and 
20was the #1 seed in the Bolingbrook Sectional; they were the 
21Illinois High School Association Class 4A regional Champions at 
22Batavia, and they were 5th in the Class 4A Associated Press

1poll, the highest in Oswego Basketball history; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Kevin Schnable has given back much to the 
3community by raising funds for various causes; he helped raise 
4$15,000 for Camp Hope at the Oswego-Naperville North Hoops for 
5Healing, $2,710 for the American Heart Association at the 
6Oswego "Red Out" vs Plainfield South, $3456 for the American 
7Cancer Society at the SPC "Coaches vs. Cancer", and $2,466 for 
8the American Cancer Society at the Oswego vs. Yorkville 
9"Communities vs Cancer"; therefore, be it
  
 
  
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
12we recognize Kevin Schnable, Dean of Students and head 
13basketball coach at Oswego High School on his 2012-13 season 
14and his accomplishments at Oswego High School; and be it

16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Kevin Schnable as an expression of our esteem and 
18respect.
