HOUSE RESOLUTION


  
 
2    WHEREAS, Peter Silvestri will retire as President of the 
3Village of Elmwood Park in May of 2013, after 24 years of 
4dedicated service; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Peter Silvestri is the longest tenured Village 
6President in the history of Elmwood Park; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Peter Silvestri has always been an active and 
8dedicated leader in his community, serving as the youngest 
9member and President of the Elmwood Park School Board and as a 
10Village Trustee prior to becoming Village President; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Thanks to Peter Silvestri's vision and 
12leadership, Elmwood Park has experienced numerous enhancements 
13to the community and a much improved quality of life for its 
14residents over the last 24 years; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Some of the more notable enhancements made during 
16Peter Silvestri's tenure include expanded green space with the 
17addition of parks and playgrounds, a state of the art public 
18safety building, a community swimming pool and upgraded 
19recreation department, a senior citizen community center, a 
20public works beautification program, and a new library; and

1    WHEREAS, Peter Silvestri's passion and commitment to the 
2Village is unsurpassed and his legacy will long be remembered 
3and enjoyed by all Elmwood Park residents; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we congratulate Peter N. Silvestri on the occasion of his 
7retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the 
8future; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to Peter Silvestri as a symbol of our esteem and 
11respect.
