| 2 | | WHEREAS, The Chicago Bulls basketball organization is |
| 3 | | moving its training facility, which it has inhabited since |
| 4 | | 1992, from north suburban Deerfield to the City of Chicago; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, The new facility will be located across from the |
| 6 | | United Center, on Wood Street, between Madison and Monroe |
| 7 | | Streets; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Plans for the new facility, which will be funded |
| 9 | | entirely by the Chicago Bulls organization, are currently in |
| 10 | | the development stage; the project is scheduled for completion |
| 11 | | in time for the 2014-2015 season; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, The lead architect on the project is the firm 360 |
| 13 | | Architects and the General Contractor used will be McHugh |
| 14 | | Construction; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, McHugh Construction has a longstanding history of |
| 16 | | employing local Chicago workers; therefore, be it
|
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 18 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 19 | | we urge the Chicago Bulls basketball organization to hire local |
| 20 | | Chicago workers for the construction of its new downtown |
