HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly wish 
3to honor members of the United States Armed Forces who have 
4been wounded during active duty; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The members of the United States Armed Forces have 
6fought for our country's freedom; we shall never forget our 
7wounded warriors; and

  
 
8    WHEREAS, The State of Illinois and the State of Missouri 
9are currently constructing a bridge to be completed at a date 
10yet to be determined on Interstate 70 crossing the Mississippi 
11River; this bridge will relieve traffic congestion between the 
12State of Illinois and the State of Missouri; therefore, be it
  
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
14NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE 
15SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the Interstate 70 
16Mississippi River Bridge connecting Illinois to Missouri to be 
17constructed at a later date as the Wounded Warriors Bridge, 
18upon approval of the Illinois and Missouri State legislatures; 
19and be it further
  
 
20    RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation 
21is requested to erect at suitable locations, consistent with

1State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs 
2giving notice of the name of the Wounded Warriors Bridge; and 
3be it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
5delivered to the Secretary of the United States Department of 
6Transportation, the Secretary of the Illinois Department of 
7Transportation, and the Secretary of the Missouri Department of 
8Transportation.
