<synopsistitle></synopsistitle>
<reference>New Act</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Creates the Accountable Care Organization Clinical Laboratory Testing Advisory Board Act. Provides that every accountable care organization providing diagnosis and treatment for patients in this State must establish an advisory board to consider and recommend guidelines or protocols for clinical laboratory testing. Provides that the membership of a clinical laboratory testing advisory board must include at least one physician who is legally affiliated with the accountable care organization and is a medical director of a clinical laboratory that is providing services for the accountable care organization. Provides that an advisory board may make recommendations to the accountable care organization's governing board for the adoption of guidelines or protocols with respect to clinical laboratory testing. Provides that nothing in the Act requires an accountable care organization's governing board to adopt a clinical laboratory testing guideline or protocol recommended by the accountable care organization's advisory board. Effective January 1, 2014.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Committee Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Adds a provision stating that nothing in the Accountable Care Organization Clinical Laboratory Testing Advisory Board Act applies to an accountable care organization owned or operated by or affiliated with any of the following: the Cook County Health and Hospitals System; the University of Illinois; a hospital licensed under the Hospital Licensing Act; or a hospital affiliate as defined in the Hospital Licensing Act.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Floor Amendment No. 2</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>In a provision requiring that an advisory board include in its membership at least one physician who is a medical director of a clinical laboratory that is providing services for the accountable care organization, adds that such a physician may be a pathologist designated by such a medical director. Changes the bill's effective date from January 1, 2014 to January 1, 2015.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
