| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply |
| 3 | | saddened to learn of the death of Mervin Frerichs of Armstrong, |
| 4 | | who passed away on December 1, 2012; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mervin Frerichs was born on August 15, 1936, to |
| 6 | | John and Anna (Ackerman) Frerichs; he married Florence Siuts on |
| 7 | | June 19, 1955; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Mervin Frerichs was a lifelong farmer and family |
| 9 | | man; he was a lifetime and active member of St. John Lutheran |
| 10 | | Church; he served on the church council and was a member of the |
| 11 | | choir and numerous committees; he was also a member of the |
| 12 | | Martin Luther Men's Choir; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Mervin Frerichs served 18 years as a school board |
| 14 | | member and president of the Armstrong High School Board and he |
| 15 | | was a bus driver for 25 years; he served on the Vermilion |
| 16 | | County Farm Bureau for 9 years and as a Pilot Township |
| 17 | | supervisor; he was a University of Illinois Assembly Hall usher |
| 18 | | for 25 years and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and UI fan; |
| 19 | | and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Mervin Frerichs was preceded in death by his |
| 21 | | parents, John and Anna Frerichs; his stepmother, Louise |
|

| 1 | | (Osterbur); his brother, Herbert John Frerichs; and his |
| 2 | | step-brother, Robert Osterbur; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Mervin Frerichs is survived by his wife, Florence; |
| 4 | | his children, Cindy (Charles) Koonce, Kerry (Annette) |
| 5 | | Frerichs, Randy (Patricia) Frerichs, and Peggy (James) |
| 6 | | Vermillion; his grandchildren, Shane, Jennifer, Jeremy, |
| 7 | | Joshua, John, Katherine, Jordan, Acasia, Tyler, Kolton, and |
| 8 | | Kylee; his great-grandchildren, Jessica, James, Emma, Giselle, |
| 9 | | Gage, Abigail, Aleta, Evan, Ella, Emilia, and Lillian; his |
| 10 | | step-grandchildren, Jason and Lindsay; his |
| 11 | | step-great-grandchild, Aiden; his sisters, Ilene Ackerman, |
| 12 | | Marilyn Frerichs, and Beverly (Lester) Wolken; his brothers, |
| 13 | | Herbert (Lois) Frerichs and Lewis (Diana) Frerichs; and |
| 14 | | numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL |
| 16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 17 | | Mervin Frerichs, and we extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 18 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 19 | | further
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 | | presented to the family of Mervin Frerichs as an expression of |
| 22 | | our deepest sympathy.
