SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Janet M. Cesar of Waukegan, who passed away on September 22, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Janet Cesar grew up in Chicago and attended St. Priscilla School and Notre Dame High School for Girls; she received a bachelor's of science degree in international business and language from St. Norbert College, where she met her husband, Bob, with whom she had two children, Jessica and Daniel; and

WHEREAS, Janet Cesar began her career in business before finding her real passion, teaching children; she earned a master's degree in teaching from National Lewis University and was a teacher at Greenwood Elementary for 18 years; and

WHEREAS, Janet Cesar was active in the community as a CCD teacher, girl scout leader, school board member, and a eucharistic minister at St. Anastasia Parish and volunteered her talents for many years in the Waukegan Room at Carmel Catholic High School Street Scenes; and

WHEREAS, Janet Cesar loved the outdoors; she spent summers at her cabin in upper Michigan, kayaking, fishing, and making many new friends; and

WHEREAS, Janet Cesar is survived by her husband of 35 years, Bob; her children Jessica and Daniel; her sisters, Kathryn (Anthony) Calabrese and Mary Nyland; her brothers, John Gastaldello and Ray Gastaldello; and numerous aunts, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Janet Cesar, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Janet Cesar as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
