SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Maurice J. Snell Jr. of Virden, who 
4passed away on November 8, 2012; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Maurice Snell Jr. was born on July 3, 1951, in 
6Springfield; he was the son of Maurice J. and Veronica E. 
7(Greeley) Snell; he married Theresa A. Maher on July 31, 1976, 
8in Girard; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Maurice Snell Jr. graduated from Virden High 
10School in 1969 and served for a short time in the United States 
11Navy; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Maurice Snell Jr. was the co-owner and operator of 
13Snell Plumbing and Heating in Virden for 40 years; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Maurice Snell Jr. was a member of the Virden 
15American Legion Post #386 and a former trustee for Virden 
16Township; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Maurice Snell Jr. is survived by his wife, Theresa 
18A. Snell; his daughters, Alyssa D. (Darby) Ferguson and Sarah 
19E. (fiance, Greg Dubois) Snell; his sons, Maury J. "Moe" 
20(Annette) Snell III and David J. (Heidi) Snell; his 7

1grandchildren, Kirsten, Jacob, Morgan, Wyatt, Emily, Kayla, 
2and Lillia; his sister, Mary Ann (Steve) Mahoney; his brothers, 
3Edward S. (Dee) Snell and Joe (Kathy) Snell; and his many 
4nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7his family and friends, the passing of Maurice J. Snell Jr.; 
8and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Maurice Snell Jr. as an expression 
11of our sympathy.
