| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply |
| 3 | | saddened to learn of the death of Cathy Tasner Curran, who |
| 4 | | passed away on October 24, 2012; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Cathy Curran was the executive director of PADS of |
| 6 | | Lake County and was a well known champion of the rights, needs, |
| 7 | | and human dignity of the homeless; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Under Cathy Curran's leadership, PADS was able to |
| 9 | | evolve and expand to meet the ever-growing demand for services; |
| 10 | | PADS Family Center, Safe Haven, Veteran's House, Street |
| 11 | | Outreach, Beyond Shelter, Medical Advocacy, and Summer Shelter |
| 12 | | programs are all operating today because of her generosity; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Cathy Curran was preceded in death by her father, |
| 14 | | Fred Tasner; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Cathy Curran is survived by her husband, Michael; |
| 16 | | her children, Sam (Roberta), Fred, and Duke; her mother, |
| 17 | | Barbara Tasner; her siblings, Amy (Richard) Schechter and Lisa |
| 18 | | (Terry Gaul) Tasner; her 12 sisters-in-law; her 11 |
| 19 | | brothers-in-law; her 29 nephews and nieces; and her 12 |
| 20 | | great-nephews and great-nieces; therefore, be it
