SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Dale Ontis of Alton, who passed away on September 17, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Dale Ontis was born in Alton, on March 1, 1932, to Charles "Tommy" and Lottie (Hessenauer); he married C. Jo Anne (Schenk) at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Alton on June 20, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Dale Ontis worked at Albrecht Hamlin Chevrolet as an auto body tech for 40 years; he retired in 1993; he was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Dale Ontis enjoyed woodworking and making furniture, doing bodywork on the side, working on cars, and spending time with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Dale Ontis was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lottie Ontis; his brother, John Ontis; his sisters, Patsy (Pete) Monroe and Mary Ann Cochran; his in-laws, Henry and Anna (Fluck) Schenk; and his brothers-in-law, Ronald and Jay Schenk; and

WHEREAS, Dale Ontis is survived by his wife, C. Jo Anne; his children, Terry D. Ontis, Tim E. Ontis, Diane Varble, Tom D. (Regina) Ontis, Tony J. Ontis, Todd M. Ontis, and Tricia J. (Steve) Dawson; his grandchildren, Christopher Ontis, Nicholas Ontis, Travis Varble, Tone Stewart, Kyle Ontis, Emily Ontis, Henry Dawson, and Max Ontis; his great-grandchildren, Trenton, Conner, Rylee, Kaylee, Tyler, Paige, Caden, Gavin, Kida, Wesley, Josie, and Jacob; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Della Ontis; his nephews and nieces; and friends, Bill and Bonnie, Harris; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dale Ontis, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That as suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dale Ontis as an expression of our sincere condolences.
