| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply |
| 3 | | saddened to learn of the death of Daniel Molloy of Rantoul, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 8, 2012; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Molloy was born on August 26, 1925, in |
| 6 | | Rantoul, to Edward J. and Mary (Sullivan) Molloy; he married |
| 7 | | Loretta Coffey on May 1, 1948, at St. Boniface Church in |
| 8 | | Sadorus; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Molloy was a 1943 graduate of Rantoul |
| 10 | | Township High School; he farmed in the Rantoul area until his |
| 11 | | retirement in 1967; he was involved in real estate and was part |
| 12 | | of Shelhouse/Molloy Realty; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Molloy was a lifelong member of St. Malachy |
| 14 | | Catholic Church and was a 4th degree Grand Knight and charter |
| 15 | | member of the Rantoul Knights of Columbus; he served as member |
| 16 | | and past president for the Rantoul Township High School school |
| 17 | | board, Rantoul Exchange Club, and the Rantoul Chamber of |
| 18 | | Commerce; he was a past member of the Champaign County Board of |
| 19 | | Realtors and the Rantoul Area Multi-List Agency; he was a past |
| 20 | | trustee of the Rantoul Village Board and served for a short |
| 21 | | time as mayor pro-tem; he was named Citizen of the Year in |
| 22 | | 1976; and
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Molloy was an avid sports fan of both St. |
| 2 | | Malachy School and Rantoul Township High School; he was also a |
| 3 | | member of the RTHS Booster Club; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Molloy was preceded in death by his wife, |
| 5 | | Loretta; his parents, Edward and Mary Molloy; and a brother; |
| 6 | | and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Molloy is survived by his children, Mary |
| 8 | | (Nick) Riddle, Agnes (Rod) Roseman, Edward (Debra) Molloy, |
| 9 | | Therese (Dennis) Bergman, Daniel (Angela) Molloy, Catherine |
| 10 | | (Michael) Bass, Margaret Bottom, John Molloy, Helen Peffers, |
| 11 | | Patrick (Carlene) Molloy, and Dennis (Laurel) Molloy; his |
| 12 | | sister, Rita Shelhouse; his 25 grandchildren; and his 8 |
| 13 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL |
| 15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 16 | | Daniel Molloy, and we extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 17 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 18 | | further
|
| 19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of the resolution be |
| 20 | | presented to the family of Daniel Molloy as an expression of |
| 21 | | our deepest sympathy.
