SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the passing of Michael Charles Demitriu of Lombard, 
4who passed away on December 6, 2011; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He graduated from the University of Illinois in 
61941 and went on to work for General Motors for 42 years, 
7retiring as the Superintendent of the Transmission Division; 
8and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, He was an active member in both his community and 
10church, and he instilled in his family the importance of 
11education and hard work; and


  
 
12    WHEREAS, Michael Charles Demitriu  was the beloved husband 
13of the late Mildred, nee Klaric; the loving father of Dorothy 
14(Phil) Zinsmeister, Constance (Mario) Bertolino, and Janet 
15(Elmer) Gramley; the most cherished grandpa of Claudia 
16Bertolino, Jeffrey Zinsmeister, Sara Gramley, and the late 
17Michael Bertolino; the dear brother of the late Chris (the late 
18Catherine) Demitriu, the late James (the late Lorraine) 
19Demitriu, and the late Peter Demitriu; and the dear friend of 
20the late Arlene Pankow; he is survived and was loved by many 
21nieces, nephews, members of the Klaric family, and friends;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3his family and friends, the passing of Michael Demitriu; and be 
4it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Michael Demitriu as a symbol of our 
7sincere sympathy.
