| 2 | | WHEREAS, The City of Park Ridge has participated with the |
| 3 | | O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission and Technical Committee |
| 4 | | (ONCC) and Citizens Against Plane Pollution (CAPP) on a |
| 5 | | continued basis in support of their mission statement; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The impacted families of CAPP, a volunteer group |
| 7 | | of families seeking solutions to the nighttime low-level cargo |
| 8 | | flights at O'Hare International Airport, have seen a continued |
| 9 | | steady rise in complaints against the backdrop of nighttime |
| 10 | | take-offs and jet aircraft noise with a grand total of well |
| 11 | | over 24,000 for the year 2011; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, The City of Park Ridge lays underneath the key |
| 13 | | nighttime air routes that converge over the community; this |
| 14 | | includes 5 glide paths, 2 major take-off plates, air routes, |
| 15 | | all used after 10 p.m.; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, The City of Park Ridge seeks a solution to the |
| 17 | | nighttime sleep interruptions during the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 |
| 18 | | a.m., including the shoulder hours as well; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, The Nextgen Program is currently being applied at |
| 20 | | O'Hare International Airport, where flights that used to be 5 |
| 21 | | miles spaced apart will soon be only a 3-mile separation, times |
