| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Peter C. Taylor of Chillicothe, who |
| 4 | | passed away on March 23, 2012; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Peter Taylor was born on October 22, 1956, in |
| 6 | | Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Nathaniel Taylor, Jr. and Rebecca |
| 7 | | Wilkins Taylor; he married his wife, Gretchen, 20 years ago; |
| 8 | | and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Peter Taylor was baptized at the Great King David |
| 10 | | Church in Baton Rouge; he graduated from Southern University in |
| 11 | | Baton Rouge; he was a lifetime member of the Scotlandville High |
| 12 | | School and Southern University Marching Bands; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Peter Taylor was recruited by Caterpillar |
| 14 | | directly upon graduation and that brought him to Central |
| 15 | | Illinois; he continued to be employed at Caterpillar; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Peter Taylor was admired and loved by all; he was |
| 17 | | fondly known as "Uncle Pete" by children young and old; he |
| 18 | | would often say that while he and Gretchen had no children of |
| 19 | | their own, they had lots of children through his family, both |
| 20 | | blood and chosen; he loved to fish, smoke his cigars, and drink |
| 21 | | coffee at Starbucks; he was known far and wide for his "magic |
