SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Donald R. "Don" Smith of Harrisburg, who 
4passed away on March 7, 2012; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on April 10, 1941, in Muddy; he was 
6the son of John William and Edith (Dardeen) Smith; he married 
7Phyllis Kay Millspaugh on May 10, 1962; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, He was a retired coal miner who worked at Eagle 
9One and at the Keensburg Coal Mine; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion 
11of the Equality McLain-Glover Post No. 595; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his 
13brother, William E. Smith; his nephew, Terry Dean Wise; and his 
14beloved dog, Maggie; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Donald Smith is survived by his wife, Kay Smith; 
16his daughters, Teresa Collins and Ida (Brad) Evans; his sister, 
17Donna Kay Wise; his grandchildren, Cory Ray Collins and Hanna 
18Kay Evans; his great-grandchild, Nathan Andrew Collins; and his 
19nephews, Johnny (Kera) Wise, Billy Joe Wise, Ronnie Eugene 
20Smith, and Jason Smith; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3his family and friends, the passing of Donald Smith; and be it 
4further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Donald Smith as an expression of our 
7sympathy.
