SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Betty J. "Granny" Meyer of Maroa, who 
4passed away on March 5, 2012; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born March 23, 1922, in Alma, Nebraska, 
6the daughter of Frank and Blanch Boatman Davis; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, She married Loyd E. Meyer on August 15, 1948, in 
8Smith Center, Kansas; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, She was a member of Maroa Christian Church; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd; 
11her parents; her daughter, Wanda Moore; her sisters, Bonnie, 
12Eloise, and Naomi; and her  son-in-law, Morris Roeder; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Betty Meyer is survived by her children, Katherine 
14"Kathy" (David) Damm, Royal "Tom" (Nancy) Woodard, Letisha 
15"Tish" (Larry) Larsen, Barbara (Larry) Gillenwater, Linda 
16(Rick) Bielski, and Loyd (Madolyn) Meyer; her sister, Helen 
17Swanson; her brother, Sherman (Cathy) Davis; and her many 
18grandchildren; her many great-grandchildren; and her many 
19great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3her family and friends, the passing of Betty Meyer; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Betty Meyer as a symbol of our 
7sincere sympathy.
