| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of
Richard A. "Dick" Jones; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Richard Jones was born on July 23, 1932; he was a |
| 5 | | graduate of Aurora East High School and Millikin University; |
| 6 | | and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Richard Jones served his country as a member of |
| 8 | | the United States Navy as a jet pilot aboard the USS Lexington; |
| 9 | | and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Richard Jones had a long and distinguished career |
| 11 | | in the aggregate and concrete business in the Chicago area; he |
| 12 | | ultimately served as vice president of sales for Material |
| 13 | | Services Corporation; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Richard Jones was active as a business leader, |
| 15 | | having served several terms as the president of the Illinois |
| 16 | | Roadbuilders Association; he also served in numerous positions |
| 17 | | with his church, the school board, and the PTA over the years; |
| 18 | | and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Richard Jones was preceded in death by his |
| 20 | | parents, Gretchen and Kermit; his sister, Marilyn Hix; and his |
