SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Paula R. Walsh of Bloomington, who passed 
4away on December 19, 2011; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Paula Walsh was a former teacher and business 
6resource manager; she and her husband moved to Bloomington in 
71990; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Paula Walsh was well known in her community for 
9her volunteer work; she was a member of the Sunrise Rotary 
10Club; during her term as president in 2008, she was 
11instrumental in the creation of the Club's Brats & Bags event, 
12which has raised more than $50,000 in the past 3 years for the 
13Midwest Food Bank; she served on the Red Cross board for 6 
14years; she was also involved with the Gift of Hope-Illinois 
15Organ Donor Program and many other organizations; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Paula Walsh was the recipient of the WJBC Don 
17Munson Spirit of McLean County Award for her service in several 
18groups, ranging from the American Cancer Society to the YWCA; 
19and

  
 
20    WHEREAS, Paula Walsh is survived by her husband, Bill 
21Walsh; her son, Brent (Nida) Walsh; her brothers, Bob (Sarah)

1Browning and Dan (Peggy) Browning; and her 3 grandchildren; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5his family and friends, the passing of Paula R. Walsh; and be 
6it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Paula Walsh as an expression of our 
9sympathy.
