SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Charles Knight of Lake Forest, who passed 
4away on February 4, 2012; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Knight was born on April 20, 1953; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Charles Knight was employed as an attorney for 
7many years; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Charles Knight was a long-time activist and an 
9original founder of the Tenth Congressional District Democrats 
10in 2003; during his tenure, he wrote the original bylaws of the 
11Tenth Dems and was very involved in the organization's 
12Executive Committee; he was also instrumental in the planning 
13and opening of the Tenth Dems Community Connection office in 
14Waukegan; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Charles Knight was an active member of the Sierra 
16Club; he was also a supporter of CASA Lake County and the 
17Montessori School of Lake Forest; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Charles Knight was the husband of Claudia 
19Lovelette; the father of Jamie Knight and Andrew Knight; the 
20son of Eleanor and the late John Knight; and the brother of

1John Knight and the late Frances Cornelius; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
4his family and friends, the passing of Charles Knight; and be 
5it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Charles Knight as an expression of 
8our sympathy.
