SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of John Hixon of Danville, formerly of 
4Chrisman, who passed away on April 2, 2009; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born March 17, 1941, in Urbana to Carl and 
6Pauline Clark Hixon; he married Carolyn Currier on October 28, 
71961, in Louisville, Kentucky; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS,
He had worked at Hyster for 33 years, serving as 
9secretary-treasurer of the ILBTU local; he was a member of the 
10Further Light Lodge, Gao Grotto, where he served as  Past 
11Monarch; and he was a member of the  Midwest Grotto Association, 
12where he served as past president; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, He also was an Indy and NASCAR racing fan, proud 
14member of the 1959 class of Scottland High School, Honorary 
15Kentucky Colonel, and an ardent and lifelong Democrat; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his 
17maternal and paternal grandparents; his sister, Judith; his 
18aunt, Berdina Martin; and his  uncles, Merl Clark and Ralph 
19Hixon; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, John Hixon is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his

1sons, John Hixon and Carl Scott (Laura) Hixon, and his brother, 
2Merl (Betty) Hixon; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5his family and friends, the passing of John Hixon; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of John Hixon as a symbol of our 
9sincere sympathy.
