SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Rose Marie Miller of Benton, who passed 
4away on September 26, 2011; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born August 9, 1958, in Benton, the 
6daughter of Lawrence and Virginia (Merkel) Gostowski; she 
7married Dennis Ray Miller on May 30, 1987, at Logan Church of 
8God; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, She, along with her husband, owned Rose's Flower 
10Shop and Greenhouse in Benton and Plants Plus Wholesale; she 
11was the owner of Miller's Appraisal and was a certified general 
12real estate appraiser; she was a registered nurse, working in 
13the intensive care unit at Franklin Hospital for several years 
14and also served as chaplain's assistant at the hospital; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, She was a member of Forest Baptist Church in 
16Benton and Lakewood Church in Houston; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her sister, Elda 
18Marlene; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Rose Miller is survived by her husband, Dennis Ray 
20Miller; her parents, Lawrence and Virginia Gostowski; her

1sister, Ila Mahan; her brother, Daryl Gostowski and wife, 
2Shawnda; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norman and Helen 
3Miller; her brothers-in-law, Alan and Julie Miller and Dale and 
4Denise Miller; her nieces and nephews; and her "buddies," Duke 
5and Daisy; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
8her family and friends, the passing of Rose Miller; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Rose Miller as a symbol of our 
12sincere sympathy.
