SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of James "Jim" Monday of Collinsville, who 
4passed away on September 15, 2011; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born October 27, 1948, in Joliet, the son 
6of Shirley (Pritz) Monday and the late James C. Monday; he 
7married Michelle R. "Shelly" (Soles) Monday on April 19, 1997, 
8in Granite City; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, He retired March 28, 2006, as the Director of 
10Administration for Madison County after 23 years of dedicated 
11service; he was a member of the National Association of County 
12Administrators; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, He enjoyed photography, traveling, bird watching, 
14and spending time with his grandchildren; he was an avid 
15baseball fan and will be remembered for the love and special 
16times shared with his family and friends; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father; and his 
18stepson, Michael Charles Moore; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, James Monday  is survived by his wife, Michelle; 
20his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and David Reed; his son

1and daughter-in-law, Keith and Laurabree Monday; his stepson 
2and his wife, Brian and Jamie Haldeman; his grandchildren, 
3Daniel Reed, Joshua Reed, James Haldeman, and Ethan Monday; his 
4brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Diane Monday and Scott 
5and Tina Monday; and other extended family and friends; 
6therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
9his family and friends, the passing of James Monday; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of James Monday as a symbol of our 
13sincere sympathy.
