| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Willie Albert Hooker, Jr., who passed |
| 4 | | away on September 19, 2011; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was born on October 13, 1948 in Lexington, |
| 6 | | Holmes County, Mississippi to Willie Albert Hooker, Sr. and |
| 7 | | Beatrice Hooker; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and |
| 9 | | united with St. Peter Rock Church; he graduated from Lexington |
| 10 | | Attendance Center; he was drafted into the United States Army |
| 11 | | and joined the Army Reserve, serving his country for 13 years; |
| 12 | | and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, He attended Saints Community College; he married |
| 14 | | Olivia, his high school sweetheart, and they enjoyed 40 years |
| 15 | | together; he worked for Fleetwood Homes, earning multiple |
| 16 | | certificates for his accomplishments and retiring as a |
| 17 | | supervisor; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his |
| 19 | | brothers, Jessie, Luntie, and Mack Hooker; his sister, |
| 20 | | Ernestine Greer; his sister-in-law, Margie Hooker; and his |
| 21 | | brother-in-law, L.C. Patton; and
