SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Felix Thompson Jr.; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Felix Thompson Jr. was born on June 11, 1950; his 
5parents were Leela and Felix Thompson Sr.; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Felix Thompson Jr. was the first born of four 
7children and came to be the ultimate big brother; he was taught 
8from an early age by his father to protect his family, which he 
9did faithfully; following his father's untimely death, he 
10served as the patriarch of his family; he was also known for 
11his great commitment to his friends; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Felix Thompson Jr. enjoyed fishing, hunting, and 
13being surrounded by his loved ones; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Felix Thompson Jr. was preceded in death by his 
15father, Felix Thompson Sr.; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Felix Thompson Jr. is survived by his longtime 
17friend and loving wife, Karen Bussell; his mother, Leela; his 
18children, Felisha, Robin, Jermaine (Tiesha), Rosie, Charity, 
19and Christopher; his sisters, Theodoria and Brenda; his 
20brother, James; his many nieces and nephews; his life brothers,

1Keevan Griffin, Lamont Malcolm, and Willie Cook; his adopted 
2sister, Sharon Collins; and his 12 grandchildren and two 
3great-nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6his family and friends, the passing of Felix Thompson Jr.; and 
7be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Felix Thompson Jr. as an expression 
10of our sympathy.
