SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Ralf Seiffe of Wilmette, who passed away 
4on September 1, 2011; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Ralf Rockford Seiffe graduated from the 
6University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1976, and was initiated into 
7the Sigma Chi Fraternity; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, His career began as a senior lending officer for 
9the former Fidelity-Philadelphia Trust Company; in 1980, he and 
10his brother, Roger, established Mail Sort, Inc., a mailing 
11services company in the Chicago area; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, He won the United States Postal Service Industry 
13Excellence Award and, in 1989, marshaled the team that created 
14ElectroCom Mail Systems; since 2002, he concentrated on 
15developing private start-ups as an investor or as an early 
16stage manager; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Warren 
18Seiffe; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, He was the husband of 28 years to Elizabeth Blatz, 
20the father of Rhys and Reiker Seiffe, and is survived by his

1mother, Joann Howells; and his brothers, Roger and Christopher 
2Seiffe; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5his family and friends, the passing of Ralf Seiffe; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Ralf Seiffe as a symbol of our 
9sincere sympathy.
