| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of
Fred J. Haddad, Sr. of Hopedale, who |
| 4 | | passed away on May 20, 2011; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Fred Haddad Sr. was born on April 18, 1915, in |
| 6 | | Peoria; his parents were Joseph and Mary Sleyman Haddad; he |
| 7 | | married Mary E. Ringness on October 4, 1936, in Peoria; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Fred Haddad Sr. attended Bradley University |
| 9 | | before following in his father's footsteps in the grocery |
| 10 | | business; he was the founder of Haddad's Market on Wisconsin |
| 11 | | Avenue in the East Bluff and Rohmann Avenue in West Peoria, |
| 12 | | where he built a family grocery store tradition and became a |
| 13 | | pillar in the community; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Fred Haddad Sr. was a past member of the Willow |
| 15 | | Knolls Country Club and the Creve Coeur Club; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Fred Haddad Sr. was preceded in death by his |
| 17 | | parents; his wife, Mary; and his son, Robert (Sue); and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Fred Haddad Sr. is survived by his children, Fred |
| 19 | | Jr. (Sandra) Haddad, Steve Haddad, Carol (Robert) Gardula, and |
| 20 | | Patricia (Joshua) Geske; his eight grandchildren; his 10 |
